Part of Scotiabank's 2019 Contact Photography Festival, the exhibit featured 23 year-old, Canadian born, global transgender male model, actor, and singer, KROW, who made history by becoming the the first transgender model to grace the cover of L’uomo Vogue. Shot by photographer Carlyle Routh, the images illustrate KROW’s transformation as an androgynous male model.

Under the creative leadership of George Antonopoulos and Glenna Weddle and styling of Lucia Perna, the series featured KROW in HUGO’s fall-winter 2019 collection that celebrates Germany’s industrial heritage and the ‘working class’ hero. The collection also conveyed HUGO’s ongoing search for solutions to enable man and nature to live in harmony which fittingly coincides with KROW’s journey in becoming his authentic self.
